About NIR | Navigator In Reach

NIR | Navigator In Reach was founded by Alicia after seeing too many NDIS participants across Adelaide and South Australia struggling with confusing plans, unresponsive providers, and unused funding sitting on the table at plan review time.

As a woman-owned and operated business, NIR is built on the belief that support coordination should be transparent, accessible, and actually helpful - not gatekept behind jargon and bureaucracy.

Based in Adelaide, we're registered NDIS providers serving all of South Australia with a simple mission: help you actually use your NDIS plan.

Alicia Founder & Support Coordinator

Alicia founded NIR | Navigator In Reach after working in disability support and seeing the gap between what NDIS participants needed and what traditional support coordination was delivering. She saw people confused by their plans, frustrated by providers who wouldn't call back, and worried about funding going unused.

So she built something different: a woman-owned business focused on plain English communication, responsive providers, and actually helping people use their NDIS funding.

Alicia's approach is simple: explain everything clearly, connect you with providers across Adelaide and South Australia who actually respond, and make sure your funding works for you - not the other way around.

Our Approach to Support Coordination

Plain English, No Jargon

We explain your NDIS plan the way a friend would, not a bureaucrat. You'll understand what you can claim, how much you have left, and what your options are at every step. No confusing terminology, no hidden fees, no surprises.

Providers Who Actually Respond

We only connect you with NDIS providers we've vetted across Adelaide and South Australia. If they ghost clients or deliver poor service, they're not on our list. You shouldn't have to call 15 providers to get 2 callbacks - we make sure the people we recommend actually pick up the phone.

Budget Tracking That Makes Sense

Know exactly where your NDIS funding is going. We show you what you've spent, what's left, and what you need to sort before your plan review - no spreadsheet required. You'll never wonder if you're claiming everything you're entitled to.

Beyond NDIS

Support coordination isn't just about NDIS providers. We connect you with the right services across healthcare, housing, education, and employment so everything works together. Need an occupational therapist? Looking for employment support? We help you navigate the whole system, not just the NDIS part.

Local, Personal Support

As a woman-owned business based in Adelaide, we're proud to support NDIS participants across all of South Australia. We're currently helping participants from the Adelaide metro area to the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, Barossa Valley, and regional communities throughout SA.

Our Values

  • Transparency over gatekeeping - Our policies and approach are open, not hidden

  • Your goals come first - We work for you, not for providers or other agencies

  • Plain language, not bureaucracy - If you don't understand it, we haven't explained it properly

  • Responsive, not reactive - We follow up, we call back, we keep you updated

  • Local and personal - Woman-owned and operated, serving South Australia from Adelaide

Why I Started NIR

I started NIR | Navigator In Reach because I kept hearing the same frustrations from NDIS participants across Adelaide and South Australia:

"I don't understand my plan."
"No one calls me back."
"I have funding but don't know how to use it."
"My coordinator never explains anything."

These aren't small problems - they're barriers that stop people from getting the support they're entitled to. As a woman working in disability support, I saw this happening again and again, and I knew there had to be a better way.

I built NIR to fix exactly these problems: plain English explanations, responsive providers, transparent budget tracking, and actual help when you need it.

Support coordination should make your life easier, not harder. That's what we're here for.

— Alicia

Common Questions About NIR | Navigator In Reach

Want to know more about how we work, our qualifications, or what makes us different? Here are the questions we hear most from NDIS participants across Adelaide and South Australia.

  • NIR | Navigator In Reach is a woman-owned business built to solve the problems NDIS participants actually face. We don't use corporate jargon or hide behind policies. Alicia founded NIR after seeing too many people across Adelaide and South Australia confused by their NDIS plan, frustrated by providers who don't call back, and worried about unused funding.

The difference is practical: plain English explanations, providers we've personally vetted who actually respond, transparent budget tracking you can understand, and working with the same coordinator throughout - not a rotating call centre. You'll work directly with Alicia, who understands your situation and can help immediately without you having to re-explain everything each time.

  • Yes. NIR | Navigator In Reach is a registered NDIS provider with full registration for Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination.

  • As a woman-owned business, NIR brings a personal, empathetic approach to support coordination. Many NDIS participants, particularly women and families, feel more comfortable working with a woman-owned provider when discussing sensitive topics like personal care, mental health, or family situations.

Woman-owned businesses often prioritize clear communication, attention to detail, and genuine relationship-building over corporate processes and bureaucracy. That's true at NIR. Alicia takes the time to understand your situation properly and explains everything in a way that actually makes sense. If you prefer working with a woman coordinator, NIR offers that without having to navigate a large organization to find the right person.

  • NIR is based in Adelaide and serves all of South Australia.

In-person support is available across Adelaide metro, Adelaide Hills, northern and southern Adelaide suburbs, and regional South Australia by arrangement.

Remote support via phone and video is available anywhere in South Australia and across Australia.

Whether you prefer face-to-face meetings at your home, a local café, or you'd rather do everything by phone and video call, we can work with you. Many NDIS participants mix both - initial meetings in person, then check-ins by phone.

  • As much or as little as you want. This is your NDIS plan and your life. Alicia works for you, not the other way around.

Some NDIS participants want to be involved in every decision: choosing providers, attending meetings, reviewing budgets together. Others prefer to hand over the admin side and just get updates on what's been organised. Most people fall somewhere in the middle.

Alicia will ask you upfront how you like to communicate, how often you want updates, and what decisions you want to make versus what you want her to handle. Then she'll work that way throughout your time together. The goal is to make support coordination work for you, not force you into a system that doesn't suit your situation.

  • Yes, absolutely. You can change support coordinators at any time. There are no lock-in contracts with NDIS providers.

If you're frustrated with your current coordinator - not responding, not explaining things clearly, providers they recommend don't call back - you can switch to NIR without losing any funding or starting from scratch.

The process is simple. Let your current coordinator know you're switching (a brief email is fine). Alicia will contact the NDIS to update your provider details, your current coordinator shares your file with NIR, and you keep using your support coordination funding without interruption. Many of NIR's clients switched from other coordinators across Adelaide and South Australia. Alicia can handle the transition smoothly so you don't have to deal with awkward conversations or admin hassles.

  • That's completely normal. Many NDIS participants aren't sure if support coordination is right for them.

The best way to find out is a free 20-minute intro call with Alicia. She'll ask about your situation: Do you understand what you can claim under your NDIS plan? Are you finding providers who respond and deliver quality service? Is your funding being used effectively? Do you know what to prepare for your plan review?

If you're handling everything well and don't need support, Alicia will tell you honestly. There's no pressure to sign up if it's not a good fit. But if you're confused, frustrated, or your funding is sitting unused, support coordination can save you time, stress, and money.

Remember: If you have support coordination funding in your plan, you're already paying for it whether you use it or not. You might as well use it.

  • Three easy steps.

First, book a free intro call. Use our online calendar to pick a time that suits you, or call (08) 7134 2560 during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm ACST). Alicia will ask about your situation and explain how NIR can help.

Second, decide if it's a good fit. No pressure. If you think NIR is right for you, we'll schedule an onboarding session. If not, that's completely fine.

Third, start using your plan properly. Alicia and her team will review your NDIS plan, explain what you can claim, connect you with responsive providers across Adelaide and South Australia, and make sure your funding actually gets used.

You can be up and running with proper support coordination within a week.
