Support Coordination That Actually Helps You Use Your NDIS Plan
If your NDIS plan feels confusing, providers aren't calling back, or your funding is sitting unused before your plan review, you're not alone. We're registered NDIS support coordinators in Adelaide who translate the paperwork, connect you with responsive providers across South Australia, and make sure your funding actually gets used.
What Does a Support Coordinator Actually Do?
If you're confused by your NDIS plan, a support coordinator breaks down what you can claim, how much funding you have left, and what your options are at every step. No jargon, no bureaucratic language - just clear explanations of YOUR specific plan.
If providers aren't calling back, a support coordinator connects you with vetted providers across Adelaide and South Australia who actually respond, have capacity, and deliver quality support. You shouldn't have to chase 15 providers for 2 callbacks.
If your funding is sitting unused, a support coordinator tracks your budget, identifies what supports you need, and makes sure you're claiming everything you're entitled to before your plan review. No spreadsheets required - you'll always know where you stand.
How NIR Does Support Coordination Differently

Common Questions About Support Coordination in Adelaide
Everything you need to know about NDIS support coordination across Adelaide and South Australia - from costs and funding to how we work with NDIS participants.
-
Support coordination is funded by the NDIS from your Capacity Building budget. There's no out-of-pocket cost to you if you have this funding in your NDIS plan.
At NIR, we use standard NDIS pricing with no hidden fees or extra charges. We track time accurately and only bill for actual work done. You can see what's been claimed and what's left in your support coordination budget at any time.
If you're not sure whether you have support coordination funding, we can check your NDIS plan together during your free intro call.
-
You might benefit from support coordination if you're confused about what you can claim under your NDIS plan, struggling to find NDIS providers across Adelaide and South Australia who actually respond, or your funding is sitting unused because you're not sure how to access services.
Support coordination is designed to help you understand and use your NDIS plan - it's there to make things easier, not add complexity. Many NDIS participants manage fine on their own, while others find a coordinator saves them time, stress, and money.
The best way to find out is a free 20-minute intro call. If you're handling everything well and don't need support coordination, we'll tell you honestly. If you have support coordination funding in your NDIS plan, remember you're already paying for it whether you use it or not - you might as well use it.
-
Support coordination (standard level) helps you understand your NDIS plan, connect with responsive providers across Adelaide and South Australia, and track your budget. This covers most NDIS participants who need help navigating the system.
Specialist support coordination (intensive level) is for participants with complex needs, multiple agencies involved (housing, justice, mental health), high-risk situations, or significant barriers to accessing supports. Specialist coordinators provide more intensive advocacy and coordinate across all the systems you're working with.
If you're not sure which level you need, we'll discuss your situation during your intro call and recommend the right level for you. We won't suggest specialist coordination if standard coordination is sufficient.
-
Yes, absolutely. You can change NDIS support coordinators at any time. There are no lock-in contracts with NDIS providers.
If you're frustrated with your current coordinator (not responding, not explaining things clearly, providers they recommend don't call back), you can switch to NIR without losing any funding or starting from scratch.
The process is simple. Let your current coordinator know you're switching (a brief email is fine). We'll contact the NDIS to update your provider details, your current coordinator shares your file with NIR, and you keep using your support coordination funding without interruption.
Many of our clients across Adelaide and South Australia switched from other coordinators who weren't meeting their needs. We can handle the transition smoothly so you don't have to deal with awkward conversations or admin hassles.
-
As often as YOU want. This is your NDIS plan and your support - we work around your preferences, not the other way around.
Some NDIS participants across Adelaide and South Australia want weekly check-ins, others prefer monthly touchpoints, and some only need contact when specific issues come up. During your onboarding, we'll ask how often you want updates and what communication method works best for you (calls, texts, emails, video calls).
You can always reach your coordinator between scheduled check-ins if something urgent comes up. We aim to respond within 24 hours during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm ACST).
The frequency can change too. If you need more support during a challenging period, we increase contact. If things are running smoothly, we reduce it. You're in control.
-
We track your support coordination budget closely and let you know well in advance if you're running low. We'll never leave you without warning.
If your support coordination funding is running out, we have several options. We can reduce the frequency of check-ins to stretch your remaining budget. We can help you request an unscheduled plan review if your circumstances have changed and you need more support coordination funding. We can also connect you with resources and information so you can manage some tasks yourself until your next plan.
For most NDIS participants across Adelaide and South Australia, standard support coordination budgets last the full plan period when used appropriately. We help you budget from day one so you're not caught short before your plan review.
-
We're based in Adelaide and provide in-person support across the Adelaide metro area, Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, Barossa Valley, and regional South Australia.
We also offer remote support coordination via phone and video calls for NDIS participants anywhere in South Australia or across Australia. Many participants prefer a mix - initial meetings in person, then regular check-ins by phone or video.
Whether you're in Adelaide's northern or southern suburbs, the Adelaide Hills, or a regional town, we can work with you in whatever way suits your situation best.
-
If your current NDIS plan doesn't include support coordination funding, you have two options.
First, you can request an unscheduled plan review if your circumstances have changed and you now need support coordination. We can help you understand what evidence you'll need to support your request.
Second, you can wait until your regular plan review and request support coordination funding to be added to your next plan. We can guide you through this process even without being your coordinator yet.
Some NDIS participants across Adelaide and South Australia start working with us as soon as they get support coordination funding approved. Others prepare for their plan review and come onboard once funding is in place.
Book a free intro call even if you don't have funding yet. We can explain the process and help you understand whether support coordination would benefit you.

We only recommend NDIS providers we've personally vetted across Adelaide and South Australia. If they ghost clients or deliver poor service, they're not on our list.
We use plain English explanations (no jargon), provide transparent budget tracking so you always know where your NDIS funding stands, and we're honest when support coordination isn't needed. If you're managing fine on your own during your intro call, we'll tell you.
We also offer a free 24/7 AI assistant for quick NDIS questions that don't need a coordinator, which saves your support coordination budget for complex issues.
